Room Bookings

If you are not a Student Services' employee and you want to book a room in Brown, you will need to partner with one of our Services who will request the room on your behalf and be responsible for it.

  • Rooms must be returned to their standard layout after each use.
  • If a room is found in disarray after an event booking, you will be charged for cleaning services.

How to Book a Room in the Brown Building (Internal Student Services Staff Only)

  1. Open your Outlook calendar and create a new meeting.
  2. In the "Location" field, start typing "Brown Building"听and select the room you'd like to book - for example: Brown Building Conference Room 5001.听 As the field populates, it will show if the room is available or not.听 If you select a room marked "busy", the room is not available and your booking will not be valid.
  3. Add the meeting details (date, time, invitees) and send the invite.听 The booking is complete.

Only internal Student Services staff with the necessary permissions can book these rooms.听 If you have any questions, contact brownbuilding [at] mcgill.ca.听听

After-Hours Access

The Brown building鈥檚 regular opening hours are from Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM (subject to change). Access outside of these hours requires approval from the building director.听 To request access, please send an email to brownbuilding [at] mcgill.ca including date, time, and names.

Tabling

There are two main听areas where tabling can occur in Brown:

  • On the third floor of the East Wing, by the Dr Penfield Entrance
  • On the second floor of the East Wing,听across from the Career Planning Services (CaPS) office
    • The main Lobby by the Ask 好色TVl desk is reserved for use by Student Services units only.

Student Services' unit have听priority for tabling in the Brown Building. If you are not a Student Services' employee听and you want to book a space for a table, you need to partner with one of our Services. Please note that you are responsible for providing the table听set-up, and take-down.

Posters

We aim to keep our building as clutter-free as possible.听 Instead of affixing paper posters on the walls--which often damages surfaces--we invite you to promote relevant resources for students using our electronic channels.
