New temporary exhibition:ÌýEBOMBELI / SA OU PA WÈ
In their exhibition, part of the research and reflection group, artists Stanley Wany and Michèle Magema propose to rethink the museum collection in the light of connections between the history of slavery, colonization and post-colonialism, in relation to their personal histories. Several questions have motivated the development of this exhibition, which offers a reflection on the various functions of museums and their relevance today.
A genuine opportunity to explore the intersections between Afrodiasporic experiences and the decolonisation movements through the prism of contemporary art, the exhibition challenges established museum norms and practices, while promoting a more inclusive and emancipatory representation of marginalised cultures and narratives.

About the artists Stanley Wany
Stanley Wany is a multidisciplinary artist whose work involves revisiting colonial and historical archives in order to unearth the history of his Afrodescendant ancestors. He began his exploration as an editor and creator of experimental graphic novels that explore the non-linearity of narrative and the unconscious. After a residency in Finland, he made the leap into the visual arts, continuing his research by incorporating the historicity of narratives present in popular culture. Through drawing, painting, installation and experimental graphic novels, he explores popular culture, myths and the subconscious in relation to the experience of Afrodescendants in Western society.

Daily life in ancient Rome
In French only.
For the first time at the Redpath Museum, historical re-enactor and educator Éric Michaud presents a unique lecture on life in ancient Rome. Lasting around an hour, audiences aged 7 and over are invited to take part in this dynamic and enriching activity! Accompanying the activity: a posca tasting, a workshop, and the chance to discover the Redpath Museum's Greco-Roman collections in a whole new light. Book now, places are limited!

This spring break, the Redpath Museum welcomes you into its springtime atmosphere with a treasure hunt to celebrate this long-awaited season!

Nuit Blanche at the Redpath Museum
We are thrilled to welcome you back to the Redpath Museum for a new edition of Nuit Blanche. Dive into the darkness of the Museum with your flashlight (bring your own!) and rediscover our exhibits. Shine the light on our minerals for a pop of color! Illuminate the secrets of ancient civilizations, dinosaurs and biodiversity exhibits. It will be a night to remember!

With its beautiful Victorian interiors and auditorium, the Redpath Museum offers a unique setting for conferences and events related to the Museum's educational and cultural mandate.

Rematriation, Repatriation and Restitution Statement
We acknowledge that the return and restitution of cultural and natural heritage to communities of origin is an essential part of reconciliation and of recognizing the fundamental rights of Indigenous Peoples. As part of wider efforts to activate the standards presented in the Canadian Museums Association Report Moved to Action: Activating UNDRIP in Canadian Museums (2022), the Redpath is working towards pro-active restitution practices. As per our Collections Management Policy (2024), repatriation requests will be received by the Redpath Museum Director and will be treated on a case-by-case basis.
