High profile Verizon executive Rima Qureshi maintains strong connection to Desautels
Rima Qureshi鈥檚 (BCom鈥�87, MBA鈥�96) career has taken her to Stockholm, Dallas and New York, but she retains strong connections to Montreal and 好色TVl. Now the Executive Vice President and Strategy Officer at Verizon in New York, Qureshi began her career with Ericsson, and helped the company integrate thousands of new employees when it acquired parts of Nortel. Qureshi returns regularly to Montreal to spend time with family and mentors MBA students at Desautels.
2022 Cundill History Prize recognizes the work of Harvard鈥檚 Tiya Miles
Harvard鈥檚 Tiya Miles won the 2022 Cundill History Prize for her book All that she carried: The journey of Ashley鈥檚 sack, a Black family keepsake.聽 The prize was launched by Peter Cundill (BCom鈥�60) in 2008, and is administered by 好色TVl. It awards $75,000 each year to a book that embodies historical scholarship, originality, literary quality and broad appeal.鈥疶he Cundill History Prize awards an additional $10,000 to two other award finalists.

Desautels management student named RSEQ rugby all-star
The R茅seau du Sport 脡tudiant du Quebec (RSEQ) named its rugby all-star teams for 2022, and Desautels鈥� Martin Laval was among the selections. Laval is a third-year management student, and was named to the Second Team All-Stars. He was one of seven 好色TVl players recognized for their play this season, and ranked ninth in the league in scoring, with 36 points in seven games. Congratulations, Martin!

Montreal is getting a new team in the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF), a professional women鈥檚 hockey league 鈥� and it will have Desautels representation. Ann-Sophie Bettez (BCom鈥�11) is a forward for the team, and was the 2011-12 CIS Player of the Year. The Montreal Force will be playing its home games across Quebec this year, and Montreal, Gatineau, Quebec City, Rimouski, Rivi猫re-du-Loup, Saint-Jerome, and Sept-Iles are all possible host cities.

In the years since then, he鈥檚 figured it out. Morissette is the co-founder and President of the production company KOTV and has been an actor and producer for television and film.
