These mechanisms of neural circuit remodeling are the basis o f learning and memory. Their precise regulation is crucial as abnormal lev els of neuronal activity can lead to disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease or schizophrenia. Using advanced neurophotonic technologies that use ligh t to measure and control neuron activity\, Paul De Koninck’s work has led to a better understanding of the mechanisms used by neurons to decode sign als that propagate in neural circuits. Paul De Koninck is an expert in dev eloping approaches to locate and track the spatio-temporal dynamics of mol ecules and proteins within living neurons. His research team is actively d eveloping methods to observe synaptic molecules at the molecular scale thr ough optical nanoscopy methods. These approaches allow his team to break t hrough the complex molecular processes that occur in neurons and synapses in the normal brain\, in diseased brains\, and in response to medical trea tments.\n DTSTART:20250415T200000Z DTEND:20250415T210000Z LOCATION:de Grandpre Communications Centre\, The Neuro SUMMARY:Killam Seminar Series: A Tiny Brain Under the Microscope: Exposome Influence on Circuit Development and Connectivity URL:/neuro/channels/event/killam-seminar-series-tiny-b rain-under-microscope-exposome-influence-circuit-development-and-364265 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
