Understanding the typ ical and atypical brain development is a crucial challenge for neuroscienc e given that many psychiatric disorders arise during this stage. Previous cross-sectional studies have shown an increase in functional segregation a long with cognitive specialization\, while other studies have reported an increase in the functional integration between brain networks. To elucidat e those discrepancies\, we worked with a longitudinal sample by exploring trajectories and non-linear trends. Furthermore\, we also assessed the imp lications for puberty\, executive functions\, and developmental disorders. \n\nBio: Zeus Gracia Tabuenca did his bachelor's degree in Statistics (Uni versity of Zaragoza) and Psychology (Complutense University of Madrid)\, a nd his master's and Ph.D. in biomedical science at the National Autonomous University of Mexico. He has been working on longitudinal brain developme nt in childhood and adolescence\, particularly\, network methods applied t o functional connectivity. He recently joined the Chai Lab at The Neuro.\n \n\nThe Feindel Virtual Brain and Mind (VBM) Seminar Series will advance t he vision of Dr. William Feindel (1918–2014)\, Former Director of the Neur o (1972–1984)\, to constantly bridge the clinical and research realms. The talks will highlight the latest advances and discoveries in neuropsycholo gy\, cognitive neuroscience\, and neuroimaging.\n\nSpeakers will include s cientists from across The Neuro\, as well as colleagues and collaborators locally and from around the world. The series is intended to provide a vir tual forum for scientists and trainees to continue to foster interdiscipli nary exchanges on the mechanisms\, diagnosis and treatment of brain and co gnitive disorders.\n DTSTART:20211013T200000Z DTEND:20211013T210000Z SUMMARY:Feindel Virtual Brain and Mind Lecture Series: 'The Organization of the Brain Functional Connectome in Adolescence' URL:/neuro/channels/event/feindel-virtual-brain-and-mi nd-lecture-series-organization-brain-functional-connectome-adolescence-334 035 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
