The main result of this talk is a rigorous derivation of the KPZ equation as a scaling limit for a class of Ginzburg-Landau SPDEs\, which itself is a large part of the motivation in Kardar\, Parisi\, and Zhang's original paper. This also gives the first derivation of random matrix stat istics from this general class of Ginzburg-Landau SPDEs.\n\nZoom link: htt ps://mcgill.zoom.us/j/81120610248?pwd=Dt7gaqRsywfBL6oa5ou46WaqUeUf6s.1\n DTSTART:20250313T153000Z DTEND:20250313T163000Z LOCATION:Room 920\, Burnside Hall\, CA\, QC\, Montreal\, H3A 0B9\, 805 rue Sherbrooke Ouest SUMMARY:Kevin Yang (Harvard University) URL:/mathstat/channels/event/kevin-yang-harvard-univer sity-364160 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
