Professors J. Donald Boudreau and Claire M. Brown named to Ordre de l’excellence en éducation

Joseph Donald Boudreau and Claire M. Brown, both of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, are among the latest appointees to the Ordre de l’excellence en éducation du Québec, the highest distinction awarded by the Quebec government in the field of education.

Professors Boudreau and Brown were among 24 new honourees. The group was feted at a June 10 ceremony at the National Assembly in Quebec City.

The Ordre de l’excellence en éducation du Québec and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada recognized Dr. Boudreau’s many contributions to medical education.

Donald Boudreau, MD, has been recognized for his outstanding contributions to medical education with two prestigious honours.

Dr. Boudreau was named to the Ordre de l’excellence en éducation du Québec for his considerable achievements and work to raise the profile of education in Quebec society.

In the late 2000s, a young Robert Sternszus found himself at a strategic planning meeting for education within ��ɫTVl’s Faculty of Medicine.

Then a fourth-year medical student, he was invited to share his observations about what he and his colleagues were being taught in lectures about professionalism: the values, competencies, attitudes and behaviours that society expects from a health professional.
