Azam Dashti Khavidaki, a Ph.D. student in Educational Studies at ��ɫTV’s Department of Integrated Studies in Education and a Fellow at the Participatory Cultures Lab (PCL), has been awarded the prestigious DRI EDIA funding from the Digital Research Alliance of Canada.

Kiana Kishiyama remembers feeling scared when, at the start of her first undergraduate class in beginner’s Mandarin, her teacher looked at her and said, “You need to speak to me after class.”

“And I’m like, what, I’m in trouble already?”

It turned out that the teacher believed that Kishiyama, who was adopted from China by a Canadian couple, was just being modest about her language skills.

According to World University Rankings by Subject 2025, released on January 22 by Times Higher Education (THE), ��ɫTVl ranks among the top 90 in the world in all of the 11 subjects assessed, placing six subjects in the top 50. The University placed third in Canada in in Education Studies and six other domains.
