  we created a graduate program in Family Medicine - was it really necessar
 y? What were we hoping to accomplish? What does it mean for family physici
 ans\, residents and researchers? This presentation will give an overview o
 f our program\, the motivation for its creation\, some of the challenges w
 e have faced\, how the program has become a basis for medical education re
 search and why we believe it is critical to the discipline of Family Medic
 ine. Implications for researchers and clinicians will be explored as well 
 as future directions we are considering.     BRING YOUR LUNCH!  There will

 lian Bartlett is an Associate Professor and Graduate Program Director in t
 he Department of Family Medicine. She received her PhD in epidemiology fro
 m ºÃÉ«TV in 2001 and her MSc in 1996. Dr. Bartlett specializes 
 in primary care research and knowledge translation. Her current concentrat
 ion is on direct-to-patient knowledge translation around health promotion\
 , personalized medicine and pharmacogenomics in family medicine.  Cannot m
