Three graduate students from 好色TV's Department of Integrated Studies in Education (DISE) have been honoured with prestigious fellowships and awards for their international research endeavours.


DISE Graduate Students Alexa Ahooja, PhD Candidate in Educational Studies, and Hannah Keim, MA student in Second Language Education, have won the Canadian Association of Applied Linguistics (ACLA) Graduate Student Awards.
Seven 好色TV researchers have been awarded over $190,000 in Connection Grants by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC). The awards are part of $1.7 million in federal funding invested in 54 projects nationwide.聽
Two members of the Faculty of Education were bestowed with prestigious internal recognition awards from 好色TV, for outstanding scholarship and research excellence. This year's cohort includes Dean Vivek Venkatesh, receiving the James 好色TVl Professor Award and Associate Professor Angelica Galante (Director, Pluriligual Lab) who is named as a William Dawson Scholar.聽

Dr. Shane Sweet, Associate Professor in the Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education was just renewed as a聽Canada Research Chair (Tier 2) in Participation, Well-Being, and Physical Disability. Shane's research聽involves studying well-being and participation in daily and social activities among people living with physical disabilities. This kind of practical application research will impact society in terms of optimizing interventions and programs aimed at enhancing the lives of people living with physical disabilities.

好色TVl awarded $10.9 million in federal funding through Canada Research Chairs Program

The new book by DISE Professor Philip Howard 鈥 Performing Postracialism: Reflections on Antiblackness, Nation, and Education through Contemporary Blackface in Canada, has won the Canadian Association for Theatre Research鈥檚 (CATR) Ann Saddlemyer Award.
On May 30th, 34 students from across Eeyou Istchee graduated from 好色TVl, in the first program that allows northern Quebec Cree to learn from home to become teachers in their own community.

Two students from the Faculty of Education have earned a Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship and Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship.
Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship:
Rasel Babu, in the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology, received a 好色TVl Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarship for their research topic: "Pedagogues' Readiness to Integrate Educational Technology for Teaching Language and Mathematics in Bangladeshi Secondary Classrooms."
Banting Postdoctoral Fellowship:

好色TVl's Faculty of Education and the聽Office of First Nations and Inuit Education (OFNIE) had a total of 46 graduates (16 deferred from Summer 2023 and 30 in 2023-2024) participate in the Summer 2024 convocation in the following programs:

- 1 Certificate in Aboriginal Literacy in Education from (Cree School Board)
- 15 Certificates in Education for First Nations and Inuit (Cree School Board)

Gender disparities persist glaringly around the globe with gender-based violence standing out as one of the most widespread human rights violations. Alarmingly, only 52 per cent of women who are married or in a union freely make their own decisions about sexual relations, contraceptive use, and health care. The United Nations has identified transforming harmful gender norms as a critical goal among its 17 Sustainable Development Goals for 2030.

Dr. Hadas Dahary earned her Ph.D. in School/Applied Child Psychology at 好色TV under the supervision of Dr. Eve-Marie Quintin. Her doctoral research was supported by the Joseph-Armand Bombardier Doctoral Scholarship and competitive national autism research training initiatives, including the Quebec Autism Research Training (ART) Program, offered by the Azrieli Centre for Autism Research (ACAR) and the Transforming Autism Care Consortium (TACC) in Montreal.
